The Executive’s Survival Guide to Commercial Fraud and Corruption

One-day senior management workshops delivered by the University of Leicester: 24^th February 2012

The University of Leicester, together with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), has enlisted two of the UK’s leading experts in the field in order to train senior managers to stop, or spot, the fraudster in their firms. The sessions will be led by Nigel Iyer of Septia Group who has over 20 years experience of preventing, detecting and investigating fraud and corruption. He is joined by Professor Peter Jackson of the University of Leicester, a prominent strategic thinker and economist.

These one-day training workshops are open to anyone in a senior management position whose responsibilities cover financial management, operational controls, and board-level governance. The sessions will enable delegates to gain an understanding of how such unethical behaviour affects organisations, implement strategies and tools which can reduce the risk of fraud and give them the ability to train staff to become more aware of the risks and the potential fraudster in their midst.

Social Media half day workshop

Due to the success of the social media seminars the Ideal Marketing Company ran in November and January (see picture above) we have decided to run a special ‘hands on’ social media workshop to help business owners really get to grips with this key new marketing area. So many business owners are starting to wake up to the potential of social media, but are unsure of the best way forward.  Unlike the seminar, the workshop will allow us to show you how to set up and use the different types of social sites that are important for your company. So what do you want help with? Want to set up a Facebook page or Twitter account for the company? Then we’ll show you what to do including website optimisation, ideas for blog content, effectively using LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and You Tube to setting up a company newsletter, you’ll get all the help you need.

The event will cover activities including:

       Finding the right search terms for your website

       Learning how to create web content that attract more visitors

       Using Linkedin more effectively (including exporting e-mail addresses)

A free event for people thinking about starting up a business or in the early stages of trading. It will bring together Leicester's entrepreneurial enthusiasm and energy in one event.

We're starting off with a Parky-style panel of 3 local people who are running exciting and challenging businesses. The panel will answer attendee's questions or concerns about business, so we can all learn from their experiences, good and bad.

You'll be able to Meet / Mingle with around 40 people in the same situation as you, over refreshments in the attractive informal surroundings of LCB Depot.
